Today we began a series of lessons about geography and map skills. In class students were given a short vocabulary list and were asked to write 1 sentence and draw 1 picture for each new word. This means students should have written a total of five sentences and drawn 5 pictures. If this assignment was not completed in class, it should be finished at home. My example is below.
In class this week, we read about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and applied the 5 themes of geography to the Alaskan wilderness. If students didn't finish the answering the questions in class, they can copy the answers from this PowerPoint. Remember, the only way to get full credit for an assignment is to get an "on-time" stamp in class!! Students can't earn full credit by simply copying my answers! If you are interested in learning more about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, check out these cool websites. http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/iditarod/ http://iditarod.com/ http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/other-shows/videos/other-shows-iditarod-videos.htm
