Tunisia is a country in Northern Africa. It is a member of the Arab League and a member of the United Nations. Two years ago, it looked like people in Tunisia might start fighting. The people couldn't agree on what was best for the country. But, different groups started talking and working together. They were able work out a solution, thus preventing violence and fighting. Great job Tunisia!! Because of their success, the problem-solving groups were awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. This prize is given to: "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." Meaning, the person/group that does the most work important towards creating world peace.
